Overview

A studio website with the discipline of a product.

Polearized needed a public home for pole sport, dance, and flexibility in Etobicoke. The result is a custom Next.js site: eight pages, one editorial system, and a path from a first class to a pack or a membership. A new student can tell the practices apart before spending. A returning student can go straight to a price. The schedule says when dates are still to come, instead of pretending a calendar is open.

Direction

Editorial warmth, with the rules left visible.

The studio is treated as a refined room, not a fitness landing page. Bodoni Moda carries the headlines. DM Sans carries the reading. Ivory, blush, rose, and wine stay quiet around the photography. Prices, the three-month membership commitment, and the essential booking policies sit in that same system.

Responsive

The same studio, at the width of a phone.

On a wide screen the navigation stays in the header. On a phone it becomes a full menu that holds the page still, then returns focus when it closes. The offer does not change as the layout tightens. Hover is reserved for a pointer, so touch does not depend on it.

Motion

Motion that arrives, then gets out of the way.

Desktop scrolling is smoothed with Lenis. A phone keeps its natural touch. GSAP plays a short intro and the scroll-linked moments on one clock, so the page never feels like two systems competing. Class levels and questions open with a measured change in height. When a visitor prefers reduced motion, the smoothing stops and those details open without it.

Engineering

The studio’s tools, connected with care.

The website does not take payment. Packs, memberships, and Open Pole open in Acuity, where the studio already manages purchases. A contact form delivers a complete note by email, and chat is available through a custom “Chat with Varvara” button. Recent posts from @polearizeddance can appear on the homepage. Each public page has its own title and share card, and the eight pages are listed for search.
